I have very oily skin, seems to get oilyer (is that a word?) as I get older (I'm 34). I have used everything from store brand to estee lauder. Nothing seems to work for very long. I don't really have breakouts, but all this oil clogs my pores. Any one used anything that really worked?? Thanks!

If you can see large pores and they are clogged, I love Neutrogena's Blackhead removing scrub. It really works, every use. Invest in blotting papers, and as I say to everyone with make up questions, try Bare Minerals out. It has worked miracles for my skin, even though I've always used "oil-free, non-comedogenic" make up in the past.

I also have a theory that working out a lot (sweating a lot), helps keep your pores clear. It's opposite of what most people think, but my skin feels better after I sweat my behind off. A little sun helps too.

Exfoliation is very important because pores are clogged by a build up of dead skin and oil. Use a mild exfoliating scrub, an at home exfoliation/dermabrasion treatment or spring for professional microdermabrasion sessions. An oil free moisturizer is important because attempting to dry out the skin may actually stimulate more oil production.

The old Phisoderm used to be the best stuff for oily skin. I have combination skin and I tend to get the shiny nose and chin. The best thing I can recommend is a good toner and an oil-absorbing or mattifying moisturizer. Also, Clinique has a t-zone mattifyer that is great for getting rid of shine and oil.

Mine is better now that I don't use scrubs or anything too strong. I use just an oil free wash with gylcolic acid in it, and a glycolic acid lotion, oil free as well. Definitly better, but still shiny!!! anything with alum in it will absorbe oil, like the toner from Lancome... On the bright side we won't wrinkle as fast!! :)

I would use Neutrogena products. Try an astringent after washing your face. I use an astringent after washing daily and I haven't had a break-out in over 6 months =) Good luck!

soap and water excesive use will get rid of your natural oils and therefore your skin will try to replenish. this might sound stupid but lotion will hydrate your skin and eventually your skin wont have the need to create more oil.

use a mattefying toner or makeup...it will help the oil stay under control so your skin won't look as shiny
