I am transferring to USC in the fall, and I plan to get a BA in psychology when I graduate. I know most jobs for psychology involve a masters or PHD, but I am not sure if I want to go on with more schooling yet, and at the very least I want to take a year or two break in between. Does anyone know what kind of jobs I could have with just a BA in psychology? Personal experience would be helpful, too! Thanks.

You could do lots. You could do just about anything in social services and case management. Work with teens, the homeless, women and children. I have a BA in psych and do HIV Surveillance and Disease Investigation for the local health department.

You can get positions in various companies, whether they are private, non-profit or public. You will definitely be eligible for most entry level positions with mental health facilities, educational institutions, and social service agencies. But you have to realize with a BA you will usually be starting at entry level and working your way up either in the company you begin at or after gaining experience moving on to another position and/or company. A Master's degree is necessary if you want to move up to counseling or an administrative position. Or if you work for several years (like 5-10) you will be eligible to advance. Good luck to you.

After getting my degree I started out doing social work & case management and burnt out fairly quickly.

I then went on to do admin work which led to Human Resources. I really like it because I get the chance to help people, but it's not nearly as emotionally draining as social work.

You could become an animal control officer and you could go around and harass people who have dogs that cry to get in the house. Or an assistant manager position at McDonalds.
