I really like classic literature - fiction of course. I love the old favorites- Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Vanity Fair, etc., but also the depressing Russian novels - Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, etc. Some fantasy is good - LOTR, Chronicles of Narnia, Madeleine L'Engle.. some mystery is awesome - Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle... it's all amazing!
If you are looking for an awesome booklist of classics to choose from, take a look at this list:http://www.kcls.org/teens/booklist.cfm?booklistid=14
Don't be fooled by the "TeenZone" banner, these are great books written for adult audiences.

all can be good and all can be potential disaster/dismay.
i like mystery in general coz i'm a curious person. fantasy often can be shocking and entertaining as the author takes some idea above and beyond but perhaps sometimes overly unrealistic and trivial/irrelevant to our lives. drama - depending on setting characters etc. - there can be drama in mystery books....

That depends on what I'm in the mood for - but on the whole, I enjoy a good mystery.
