why do people change thier names? Why cant you just stay with the one you were born with?

some people do it when they get away from their old life so they can start again,others just because they dont like their name and a lot because they got married

beacause some people do not like the names that they had been born with, some people feel that their names are old fashioned and want to change them, some people like to feel speacial when they are married and change their names over.
It really depends on people and their situations some peple are not satisfied with the names they are born with and like to show of or become well known by changing their name

That's a tough question, people do it for different reasons.
I'm named after my Dad and I love the guy to death but my first name is a little odd. I love my middle name and go by that, but at one time I wanted to legally change it.
Other people might just feel that their name doesn't describe who they are and it upsets them.

Because some people don't like their name at all...or it's for the business purpose...like singer with common name...they sometimes change their name into something more catchy...
I don't really like my name too...but I try to respect time time my parents gave to think about a perfect name for me...

The only time my name ever changed was when I got married. I only changed my last name then.

What if your mom named you something really stupid? Would you still feel the same? I mean I like my name but I can see why one would want to change.

because some people don't like te name they were born with. for example ( and i heard this from the movie charlie' angels) would you want to have the name Helen Zass all your life? think about it.

Each one has a desire for making his own identity. That is why many of them change their names to have their own identity and also to remove the title bestowed on them by their parents.

I will be changing my name, but the spelling only. Because that was the way my mom wanted it to be spelled, but my dad said no.
