Readily it can be identified as the ultimate and absolute fact, a statement that is, was, and allways will be true, and if "whole" then it must also be the ONLY one.

Mathmatically it would be an axiomatic algorythm that cannot be disproven.

Logically speaking, it certainly is possible, but a better question would be "Will we, as humans, ever be able to know it for certain?" As far as it being the ONLY one, I don't think so because if there are parallel universes, as some parts of current string theory suggest, then there may be Multiple "whole truths" that we could never be aware of.

And, humans are notoriously adept at creating their own truths seperately and at odds with others that are always proving, or trying to prove, their truths.

Way on the other hand, I believe that Mathematics itself may ultimately boil down to be the one whole truth of existence. All of mathematics exists by itself independent of us humans who can only hope to discover it's secrets little by little. Whether or not we discover it, 1+1 still equals 2, always has and always will. But mathematics loses any meaning of course, if there is no one around to conceptualize into discreet terms.

Truth can be subjective, so don't confuse truth with fact. Truth is derivative, meaning that it is "less strong" than a fact. Facts can be measured and verified by all parties, regardless of belief, whereas truth can be subject to debate. Think about how people each claim that their religion is truth.

But you make the assumption that there can be only one truth- how is that? Many things are true, so how can one truth "displace" all those other things that are true? We each have a system of beliefs that is based to some degree on facts, and then to a greater degree on derivatives we call truths.

I think you could find three facts, and then find that they remain facts no matter how you view them. None will invalidate the others.

The whole truth will never exist. The truth is always subjective.

Take for example two words that have essentially the same meaning, but can describe the truth very differently.

"The woman was mean to her children."
"The woman was cruel to her children."

Both describe the same "truth," but each in a different way. There are too many unnecessary adjectives in the Englsih language to make any truth the ONLY truth.

Now you're crossing over into the theological reasonings... I WILL say that an algorithm that states clearly ALL the mechanics of the universe from beginning to end-state, as it unfolds together with all it's phenomena accounted for, would come pretty close... don't you think (?) or don't you...

Remember though, we are talking about all the dimensionalities included in any accepted GUTS theory, etc.

There is a balance of truth and lie, unless you are anywhere that Geroge Bush is :P.

The truth outweighs the lie, so there is not total chaos. The lie outweighs the truth, because Adam and Eve couldn't resist that flipping apple and there is no such ting as "perfect" except Heaven.

no it cant because as time changes so do the ways people look at the world and the way they study things 200 years no one would ever believe that people could find a way to fly so why should something be set in stone when it might be proven wrong or right in the future

It depends on whether you're a logical positivist or a teleologist. It sounds like you're leaning in the direction of logical positivism. Check those out and meet me back here. I'm out.

John 14:4-And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

John 14:5-Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

John 14:6-Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:7-If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

John 14:8-Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

John 14:9-Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

John 14:ten-Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:eleven-Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
