i think we have bigger problems in this world than illegal aliens....i think the subject is being pushed on us to distract us from the real issues.

1) They are violating the laws of the United States. If you are unwilling to enforce this law, then maybe we should do away with all laws. What a society that would be.
2) They are a drain on resources. What you fail to consider is that there are enormous costs associated with illegals which the American taxpayer is on the hook for.
3) There are extreme security risks involved with not knowing exactly who is in the country and why they are here.
4) Your contention that illegals are harmless to the general public at large is wrong. I will admit that I believe most illegals are hard working and basically ( I say basically because they have broken the law by entering the country illegally) honest individuals. Never the less, thousands of crimes are committed yearly by illegals ranging from simple robbery to unspeakable murders.
5) It is wholly unfair to people who are trying to immigrate legally to this country, some of whom have waited patiently for years to enter the country legally. Then upon arrival wait many more years and spend thousands of dollars in their quest to become American citizens.
6) This is the biggest reason of all. A majority of the American people are against allowing illegals to continue to stream into the country unchecked.
Comprehensive and meaningful immigration reform is needed in this country. While that may not necessarily preclude a guest worker program, the American people will not stand for another blanket amnesty act. Americans are more tolerant than the rest of the world gives us credit for, and most Americans are for legal immigration to this country, but they are sick and tired of their laws being flaunted by groups who think if that if they shout racism loud enough it will confuse the issue enough for them to slip by the will of the people.
Your quote: "Beside breaking because all do break at point or another and taking jobs we don't want anyways"
This is biggest load of crap anyone has ever tried to feed us. People did these jobs before we were overrun with illegals. People still do these jobs in areas that don't have large illegal populations.
This idea is fed to us by 2 groups both with different agendas
Business owners who don't want to lose a large cheap workforce
Politicians who have their eye on a new and potentially large voting block. If you don't believe this go read the bill passed by the Senate and familiarize yourself with just how many hundreds (yes hundreds) of millions they want to allow into the US over the next 30 years.
To those who post that this is just a government ploy to distract us I would have you consider this. This has been an issue in border states like Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California for as long as I can remember. Also, this did not become a major issue in other states until people started seeing images of large groups of illegals protesting on their television screens. The reason this is a large issue is because average Americans are offended in large numbers, and when you arouse the sleeping giant that is the American people it is a considerable force to reckoned with.

I don't have a problem with them either because I am not competing for the jobs they are doing. However, I understand the criminal element behind them coming here illegally, but I think that the majority don't come here to live of our welfare system nor do they intend on mooching off us. They come here to WORK because we continue to hire them. Perhaps, we should stop being hypocrites and start biding by the laws also instead of looking on how to save a buck.
I have a problem with the people in our society, illegal or not, that live off welfare, don't pursue some kind of education, commit crimes and don't take responsibility for their actions by blaming the lack of this and that for their behavior. I know plenty of people who came here illegally as children and have an education, a job, money, goals, values etc as adults and there are many that were born here and have amounted to nothing!
I also agree with the person that said that this is a distraction from larger more important issues facing us today...and it's working.

All of us who are paying taxes, for one example. Who do you think pays for their medical care when there is an emergency or they visit the free clinics? If they're working, they're collecting wages on which no taxes are being paid. More money out of your pocket.
Some people employee illegal aliens at a very cheap rate - much less than a law-abiding citizen could live on. So there's additional money out of your pocket to keep the citizen on welfare and/or unemployment.
Let's talk about cars. When they have an accident - there is no insurance to cover their car, your car or anyone's injuries. More money out of your pocket.
These are just drops in the bucket.

the problem is that some illegals come here and enroll in state welfare programs, straining the systems and paying out benefits that only citizens should have.. they use fake social security numbers usually stolen ones contributing to identity theft. if they get into trouble or an accident, they usually up and dissapear, leaving an unsolved case or monetary damages.
this is just a partial list. I am not against immigration, I would just like to see counties(not just mexico) get their social economics straight so that immigrants could come here legally, and have less need to sneak in to america for a better life.

Nothing illegal is right. I suppose next you are going to say it is all right to go around killing people, too.
While I am at it I could mention that where I live has one of the largest populations of illegal immigrants & that the crime rate inceased 60% in the last year. I really doubt that this is just a coincidence.

Why should non-citizens get paid under the table, not pay taxes and reap the benefits that should be going to our citizens?
