I hate rap. I prefer to listen to real music instead of someone ripping off someone else and calling it a sample. I also per fer to listen to something a little more intelligent. Lets face it, no one in rap has anything new or interesting to say. Oh, wait, did you have a question somewhere?

I don't mind rap sometimes, but you have to be honest with yourself, is it REALLY that good of music? I mean seriously you're a chick... Do you like the fact that basically all rap songs talk about how easy you are to manipulate and that you're only around for some booty? I doubt that. If you want my honest opinion I think that the black community in this country should start picking back up the instruments and forming bands again! You don't hardly see ANY all black bands now like you used to. I mean come on Parliament Funkadelic? You just can't top that! Talking about rims and cars and grills and crack and killing people is not cool at all. Period. I want to see some young brothers pick up the bass and guitar and drums again and start playing man! The Roots at least have the right idea. Just my two cents. Cheers!

To call rap a musical genre is rediculous. I will agree that it may take a limited amount of talent to rhyme B*tch with Ditch, however ripping off someone else's creativity (ie sound loop from another song) while you talk about pimps, hoes and bling does not. Learn to sing or play an instrument.....

And by the way.... a scratching a record on a turntable is NOT playing an instrument!

People hate rap and insist on talking about it because Rap music spread like fire around the country and the world.Rap music is VERY degrading to women and ALWAYS mentions them as objects of sexual desire and mentions them illicitly.2pac was the only good thing about rap.Im sorry but these days rap is 100% CRAP!
And what the hell is up with the "you judgemental b*thch" ?! Whats wrong with you? How does not liking rap being judgemental? With VERY FEW exceptions rap music is disgusting and is poisoning our youth.Especially the filthy music videos!

Rap is an authentic genre of music and people might as well get used to and accept it. People resisted rock and roll and heavy metal but of those genres have thrived. To those people who absolutely loathe rap should not listen to it. I don't like heavy metal and pop so I just don't listen to it. Rap isn't for everyone but I like it and I will continue to listen to it. There are some good rap songs and some bad but such is the case with all types of music. Screw those people who have to openly proclaim that they hate rap.

honestly, rap died on march 9, 1997. this new "rap music" shouldn't even be considered music, now i wont discredit some talented artist who rely on lyrical content rather than whats hot. but I will say the way things are going, hip hop will meet its demise just like disco did. just to add on, rap has become a gimmick, and to seperate fantasy from reality i'll use Ja Rule as an example. when he started, his lyrics consited of bitches, guns, drugs, etc. When he hit it big he rapped about what he knew, women, money and love. I hate to say this because I dislike Ja Rule, but he kept it real.

I agree, I hate rap too! I don't know where you live but I haven't ever heard anyone come up to me and tell me they hate rap unless you specifically ask them. Stop being so self concious of what you listen to and worrying about what others will think of you and just enjoy whatever music you like. Maybe people say they hate rap because some of it is stupid?
Not all rap sucks...I personally am a huge Kanye West fan. Rap in itself is not bad, its the song content and content of the videos. The objectification of women, the glorification of drug dealers, the need for "street cred" which basically means you've gotten shot, pimped, or dealt crack before. It's all so unnecessary.
