Question

I think that the waist cut jeans that all the teens are wearing look AWFUL unless they are wore by someone with the perfect body. And not too many people have the PERFECT body. So I think that this style should be OUT. What do you say?

I was just commenting on that very thing last night. I was out karaoke-ing and noticed that about 1 in 15 looked good in the low rise jeans and the rest looked like they were SERIOUSLY overweight. With so many teens being so self consious about their weight, you'd think they would look in the mirror and opt for something that would flatter their figures. The only one who can pull that style off are stick figures and who wants to see hip bones?

Well I have to admit they are more attractive than the highwaisted pants of the 80s and early to mid-90s. Just watch an old episode of Saved by the Bell and you will understand how ugly that cut was. Now I think the low waist pants are fine on almost anyone but if you don't have a slim waist, wear a shirt long enough to cover your gut. That's my pet peeve, seeing young chunky girls wearing these pants with midriff bearing tops. I could not get away with wearing that and neither could a lot of these girls.

I don't see many jeans these days that are really low cut. For a while everyone was wearing them and it was pretty gross....but now I dont' see so many. But I think people can wear what they want we can't do anything about it. If I want to wear a bikini to the beach I can! (lol I would never do that though...)

high waisted jeans look bad even on perfect bodies. Especially the tapered jeans, they make people look like upside down triangles. Fashion has gotten a bit weird lately, so it's best to stay with chic and classic instead of trendy right now.

You are right.. the low cut jeans are for people who dont have a waist.. most people wear them and they look like muffin tops with the belly spillin over the pants lol

I think the only jeans that are in style that look aweful ( and guys are wearing them too) are those 80's looking skin tight tapered ones. You know skaters are wearing them and rockers/punks. lowrise flares are great...they look great. But seriousely jeans are jeans and people can wear what they want. Like you have the authority to pick our trends. Be your own person and wear what you think is "in"

I do agree that when an over weight teen attempts to wear the low cut jean and you can see all of the fat dripping over it is very unattractive!!!!! and they should be forbidden to wear such clothing. But I think if it is worn by someone more suited for that fit, then it's very cute.

I agree!!! I hate when people that are overweight wear those kind of clothes, those are made, like you said, to show off a PERFECT body, not an imperfect body!!! Put some regular clothes on you chubby bubs!

I think they should be out unless you have the body for them. You're right about many wearing them that shouldn't! Also the thongs hanging out of the top of them isn't too cute either.
