Hmmm, this is a good one :).

I think relationships go through different phases. Initially, there's the attraction---both persons begin to 'feel out' the other while simultaneously presenting a more attractive version of themselves. As time goes, each individual gets more deeply entrenched in the relationship and becomes seriously in love. Their lover is on their mind constantly; they sleep, eat and dream him/her and can't seem to get enough. Soon, the relationship is filled with intense attraction, incredible passion and romance...

After a while however, the infatuation usually wears off and both partners become more comfortable with each other. They've gone through the 'pretty' phases of the relationship and now have a greater understanding of who they're involved with. The mystery and suspense, the thrills and excitement, have somewhat calmed. If the relationship is a strong one with guaranteed staying-power, eventually they'll become very close and intimate friends that love and care deeply for each other. If it's just an old run-of-the-mill relationship, it's very likely that it will end as soon as the stage of intense passion begins to wane.

If unbelievable passion is all I'd have to hold unto without the more attractive prospect of a loving, long-lasting union, I'd definitely have to say security :).

Total security. Passion can fade. Personally, if I know in my heart that I have the security, then the passion will be there!!!!
