I agree with Preacher55, and will add that if the machine will be sitting for much more than a short period of time a battery tender is a very worth while investment.

Its like asking .... how long does a Human Life lasts. You cant be sure. No one can. It depends on the Battery type, how you take care of it. How much you use it and so on.
Manufacturing specifications say that a battery should last 2-3 years if taken care of. Some last longer, some die earlier.

What quality of M/C battery? As with automobile batteries, you can get them with various grades. For a good quality one, you can expect about 3 years. For a cheap one, a year or less.

usually its about the same as a car battery about 2-3 years depends on your use of the bike.

Never had one that lasted much more than a year. You might get 2 if you're lucky and remove it from the bike and keep it on a trickle charger during the off-season.

I agree with the 2-3 year option. But regular trickle charging with an Optimate charger (or similar) will prolong the life.

I've had mine for over two years and it works just fine. Then again there is no such thing as an off-season in Texas ;o)

As long as you keep the specfic gravity above 12.80, they can last for years. My personal best is 6yrs.
