i was really turned off by the actor when he 1) pushed HP when he thought HP had put his name in the Goblet and 2) his accent varied from British to American..... it really ruined the movie for me

i think the original dumbledore (richard harris) from the first two movies was amazing. he was the perfect dumbledore, the epitome of the book character. i was not impressed or satisfied with michael gambon's take on the role. it is such a shame richard harris lost his battle with cancer. hp fans lost him once and it seems they've lost him again in the 6th book. :(

I havn't liked this new actor that plays Dumbledore. I think he is even going to be in the next movie also. Uggh. I saw a behind the scenes of the movie and the director said he wanted to make this current Dumbledore kind of a hippy. Dumbledore is spacy, but I've never viewed his character as a hippy. I also thought it was out of character for him to get so angry in that scene, and I didn't notice the accent thing....but I've been frustrated with the last 2 movies unnecessarily changing so much of the original story. I realize that some things have to change because of the time constraints, but some of the changes seemed unnecessary...especially in movie 3.

Naw, he did a good job. Most people are just put off because they had to change Dumbledores.

He was supposed to be really angry when he thought Harry put his name in, he was worried about him, that's what that was about. He was a bit fierce though.

As for the accent I didn't notice anything, and I'm usually good about that. Dumbledore (both of them) didn't really have a thick English accent anyway.

I had the opposite feeling. I thought this actor captured the grit... and the fear that Dumbledore was having for Harry. He was worried that Harry was going to be killed or seriously hurt in the trials and he was showing a basic emotion that manifested as anger - I loved it. As for the accent - I didn't notice any variance.

I know I was so confused when dumbledore got all angry at harry....because in the book he never does stuff like that! Can't blame the actor though..it was the director. I didn't notice the accent but I only saw it once.

Yeah he sort of wasn't so great as the other dumbledore. The old one was alot more soft spoken and fit more into the character. This one was too loud and well...out spoken. When I first heard him talk I thought it was Snape. Oh well, at least he still looks like him.
