Can you guys imagine with the advent of digitial photography and amazing computer generated graphics, we could get a far more realistic looking Great White shark instead of that ridiciously looking Bruce? Perhaps it would be produced in more dramatic way in the fashion of first person viewpoint and third person viewpoint, thickening the suspense in the tradition of Alfred Hitchcock.

I would seriously doubt it. I can't imagine Steven Spielberg wanting to let it happen, and I imagine he has a fair amount of clout around Hollywood :-)

It's a good thing, though. Yes, you could do much better sharks these days, but it's the characters in Jaws that make it work. You actually care about whether or not they get eaten, because the scriptwriter and the actors have made sure you do. And I think the fact that the shark effects they did were terrible enough that they cut most of them out of the original probably helps the film - it's much easier to be frightened of something you don't really see.

If they remade it today, it would just be Deep Blue Sea 2 with a different name...

even if they DO remake jaws, which i've often wondered why no one had done it yet, it would never EVER live up to the first one!

however, i WOULD go see it when it came out if they DID remake it. the only thing negative i have to say is, remember the sharks in deep blue sea? they weren't extremely realistic, although they had come a long way from the "bruce" version of jaws.

Not a bad idea, actually; the technology on that movie was a little silly by today's standards. Today they probably could convince me that a real shark was really attacking. Bruce was pretty obviously a rubber mock-up.

I think the remake would be awesome because of the visual effects that we have now...I think some of the Alfred Hitchcock movies would be awesome to remake also

Hope not, it is a classic. You don't screw with perfection.
