Where are all the people that we elected to BE THERE??????
Are they still being paid, even though they didn't show up for "WORK?"

They don't have to be there. They have lobbyists that fund their campaign who can tell them how to vote on any issue. Why would they waste time listening to people debate when it isn't going to effect their vote anyway?

It is customery for the television camera not to show the house just for this reason. Some speaches are just not of intrest to the Senators but the speech is recorded in the for publication in the house records anyway.

check out some of the votes online...many are missed. To be fair...the senators and reps do have offices in their states....they have to spend time there..

Its pretty funny, isn't it? The speakers are just using the forum to put out their views over CSPAN, get a little free exposure.
