In 2000 was one of the closest Presidential elections in United States history, with 537 votes separating the candidates in florida. The media premately stated the winner twice based on exit polls before finally deciding that the Florida race was too close to call. The the election was finally certified after numerous court challenges and recounts. .

President Bush won Florida's 25 electoral votes with a trim margin of the popular vote in that state, and defeated Gore legally and ethically.

This is not the first time that a president wins the electoral vote and not the popular vote. Study up on your history and how the electoiral process works.

Nope. And thanks to liberal idiots lying and carrying on about various issues like this, the democrats have lost any chance at the presidency for at least the next decade. They will be damn lucky not to lose big time this November and are at risk for further marginalization in '08.

The irony is there is one issue that could catapult them to victory. If they were to become real isolationalist and anti-immigration, they could take back the White House and much of Congress. They would have to build a huge wall along our border with mexico, round up and deport all 30 million illegals and pair down immigration from 1 million a year to about 100,000 a year (90% decrease). That would do it.

They will NEVER do that.

However, I think it is highly likely that the republicans WILL do exactly that. I've been watching Tom Tancredo out of colorado very closely these last couple of years. I think he is going to be our next president. He is a staunch conservative and the driving force behind immigration reform in this country. He hates liberals (don't most people in the US) and is likely to be FAR less accomadating than Bush has been these last 8 years.

If he gets in, the democrats fate is sealed for 20 years or more. Good times ahead.

In 2000 there was accusations of tampering with the Florida vote (in a state where his brother was the governor)

In 2004, there were irregularities in Ohio, along the same voting fraud lines.

There is a fear that there will be more voter fraud in 2008 to keep the GOP in power, especially with the possibility of touch-screen voting from a company that has ties to the Bushes.

By evidence of voting system Bush is a president, if he cheated then democracy as a system does not work or has some many holes that it comes to the same.

So does democracy exists or you can use its holes for personal purposes with enough money to start the hole exploitation?

I think that there are holes in americas voting system and he used it perfectly, but that does not mean that he is unlawful president,
he is a product of your voting system which means he is a lawful president of USA.
So if you do not like results, fill your holes, and change your system.

Maybe you should read the paper more. Bush won the last election. The Florida vote was the one prior to the last election. You are a few years behind.

No, he didn't cheat. He won the electoral cooege. If some of you libs would get your information somewhere besides the T.V. this question would not even be asked. Also, if you want to bad mouth President Bush so much, why don't you do a little research on that drug addicted, womanizing, hero of the press J.F.K.

The simple answer? His opponents conceded victory.

The slightly more complex answer is that voting irregularities in Florida prompted the Florida Supreme Court to order a recount, and the United States Supreme Court put an end to the recount. The decision is in the link if you want to read it.

The really complex answer is a bit beyond the scope of my expertise.

Because he won two elections. No one cheated concerning the votes in Florida.

Ugh, here we go again. No he didn't cheat. Our country is based on the electoral vote, which he won. Independant news agencies investigated the whole hanging chad debate and no matter which way they counted, Bush still came out ahead. Indeed it was close, but that just goes to show that every vote counts!
