if it's just the noise, and the flasher doesn't stay on, that pretty much eliminates the flasher unit. It wouldn't be something silly like you not wearing your seatbelt and having that thing chime at you, but I'm sure that sounds completely different. It sounds like some other kind of problem, and the easiest thing to do would probably be to disconnect the thing that makes noise when the turn signal is on.

The reason involves the fact that you drive a Chevrolet. Let me guess.........is it a Malibu or an Impala by chance?

Well, I have a 2001 Malibu and work with someone who has a 2002 Impala. We both have all kinds of electrical problems. Maybe it just has something to do with the computer, or like you said, a grounding issue. I have problems with turn signals that only work part of the time and was told it is some kind of switch that works them. If you don't want to ask the dealership, take it by a local body shop and ask for their opinion. They may be able to help or at least point you to someone who can.

OK their are many relays in the newer cars and it may not be your flasher the only way to tell is to touch the relay and feel it you will be able to tell if it is turning on. if not look for a different relay most of them are square and black.
