The difference between cc and a univerisity for the first two years is overated. If you are not ready to go away to college, go to a cc. Take the core classes and make sure they transfer. Take classes pertaining to your major from a university. Employees ultimately look for a university degree and don't really care where the core credits came from.

It depends on the field. However, if you go to a well known University it is going to carry more weight than a community college unless you are really brilliant. For example, I graduated from Notre Dame, my husband attended school in Australia at a University most Americans have never heard of. However, the man is brilliant. We have the same majors and he makes more money than I do. lol Not that I mind, it is all "our" money.

For core classes, community college is problably better. You'll have to transfer to a University if you want a good 4 year degree.
