God oh god where to begin. Basically ANY song by Pantera is going to punch you in the face. Children of Bodom, Meshuggah, Slayer, old Metallica (NOT ST. ANGER!!!!), Shadow's Fall and Trivium are relatively new and ripping. You'd probably like Atreyu a lot because they have a punk kind of vibe but they are much cooler than Sum 41.... Honestly I don't know if you're ready yet for the heavy stuff if you listen to Sum 41 my friend. Maybe start off with Korn's first album, the one with Blind on it. Thrice is a really good band to listen to as well, but only go with the first three albums because the most recent one was mad mellow. There are literally hundreds of killer bands out there rip and tear. Throw that pop punk crap out the window because once heavy music gets a hold of your soul, nothing else will ever compare. Cheers!

I'm not by any means a "hater" but "pop-punk" is horrible. It should not be labled that is all. It's pop music, there is no Punk to it. You must be around 15 to 18 years old I'm guessing? It is easy to like, it's fast and fun, but just cause they have trendy tats doesn't make them punk. but as you get older hopefully your taste will mature also. I'm 32 and grew up with a much better caliber of Punk music. Before MTV bastardized it and made it a commodity. If you want to hear a great metal song check out "Alone" by Suicidal Tendencies, great song.

sorry,i hate pop punk with a passion, most of all sum 41, i know that's not important. i just wanted to make it clear first. first things first,if you want to hear good metal don't look for a famous band look for a band that is just on the line of famous. metallica is a perfect example of what fame can do to a band. here are some songs you may be interested in.

#1. "ascendancy"-trivium
#2. "like light to flies"-trivium
#3. "save ourselves"-chimaira
#4. "ashes of the wake"-lamb of god
#5. "california burning"-devilinside
#6."one"-wicked wisdom
#7."pin prick"-one
#8. any pantera(should be higher on the list but i just thought of it)
#9.any other trivium
#10. anything from - in flames
#11."darkest nights"-as i lay dying
#12."pity none"-byzantine
#13."pendulum"-diecast
#14.anything from damage plan(dimes other band)

hope this helped.

DIO, Judas Priest esp. Point Of Entry, Rose Tattoo, ACCEPT, Gamma, Metallica, Led Zeppelin ( Best Band Ever, period.) Iron Maiden,The Stones, early Motley Crue, and Sabbath, not all metal but you don't sound like a Metal kinda guy- and thats ok.... Whatever floats your boat, ya know. However, I do think that Led Zeppelin should be required listening for every 'Rock n' Roller' Good Luck and never be ashamed of who you like, just have fun... Peace....

for starters SUM 41 is anything BUT metallic they are just rock n rollers that got a taste for metal and kind of throw it in.
start off with the classics, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Iron Maiden.
heavier stuff is Slayer, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Arch Enemy, Sepultura Cannibal Corpse and many others
