Anybody got any tips for getting rid of flies in the house - apart from fly spray. Perhaps a natural remedy ?

during this time of year when it's hot, to prevent them, don't put food scraps in the garbage in the house. bag them up and take them to the dumpster daily or store them in the freezer and take them out on garbage day or the night before.

I just smack them with a flyswatter. Keep doors and windows closed that don't have screens. Repair screens that have holes. If you have kids, impose the no in and out rule and the don't leave the door open rule.

Flies are unwanted pests. You can help keep them out of your house by keeping potted basil and mint around as well as citrus peel pomanders.

hang a ziploc bag of water(about half full) on the door or put it on a table(like at a picnic or patio)...the ones that are already in will die eventually and you need to prevent more coming in...the bag of water sounds silly but it works!

Fill plastic baggies with water and hang infront of of your doors. They do not like the reflection. I know this from years of experience of working in horse stables. We hang them in the stalls to keep them off of our horses.
