I am on my lap top a lot during the day for work. I recently noticed that ever 30 or 40 minutes my screen blinks twice. This seems odd to me. What could cause this?

Might be a spyware running in the background...
Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

right click on ur desktop>properties> settings>advanced> monitor>screen refresh rate i have mine on 60hz it doesnt blink at all try it
