Do not take any herbal medications without consulting a doctor first. It may interact with medications you are taking and increase risk of certain negative side effects because of environmental or genetic factors. I remember reading about Black Cohosh (spelling?) and I just have a negative feeling about it (although I can't remember why). Talk to your doctor first. There are many other supplements - soy for example - that may work great for you and have the medical background to support its use.

It is an herb. It will PREVENT hot flashes. You can tell your doc, but most doc's don't like natural remedies, even if they work! There are no side effects and it will start working in about a week or two. Buy it 'standardized'. It is amazing!

The best way to fight menopause is with your own body. Your doctor can make injections for you from your own testosterone, progesterone and estrogen. Black cohosh can make your body attack your liver and other systems.
