This is my first full-time job, in which I will be working at corporate headquarters. I just got my first hire kit and one of the forms included is a drug test release form. I have no problem with the purpose of the drug test as I have nothing to hide (I'm completely clean). I'm curious to know what drug test types are more common? Hair samples? Urine sample? Blood sample? I get nervous with people taking blood from me as I'm not very good with needles. I would like to prepare myself for it if a blood sample is commonly used. Thanks!

Almost no company asks for a blood test (as drugs are filtered out of the blood within 7 days). A urine test is the most common, and least expensive. However, hair follicle tests are becoming much more popular as they can give information about drug use over the past year.

usually just urine for pot, coke, etc. I used to get drug tested, it does nothing because on a 3 day week end everyone would do coke, (Gone after 2 days), I never did any drugs while I was in the program but, I sure didn't like it. It's a lame attempt by company's and politicians to say that they are doing something about drug abuse, It doesn't work. It DOES VIOLATE your 4Th and 5Th amendment rights though (you can't be used to testify against yourself) and (Illegal search and seizure). they cleverly get around this by making you forfeit your rights by agreeing, and signing the paper. Why are we NOT dragging these people out into the parking lot, and shooting them, do you know how many people died to make sure that you got those rights as an American ? It's Disgusting !

Usually just urine samples... but you may have a blood sample taken, depending on the company. But... usually, just Urine samples.... hey... if it's good enough for the winner of the Kentucky Derby, it's good enough for you... the only difference is, you don't get to go back to the barn for oats and a rub down afterward.

It's more than likely just going to be a urine test because hair folicule tests are too expensive for them to waste on potential employees and plus it takes longer to get the results. Unless this is a HUGE company...just count on the urine test.

most are urine tests but hair tests are becoming more comman becasue it will show longer drug use than just a urine sample. they mainly test for percentage of pot, opiates, and alcohol

Urinalsys - Least expensive for company and effective. That's the only drug test I've done for a new job

i would not worry usually they only do a urine test so more then likely you will just have to pee in a cup. congradts on your job and i wish you good luck!!
