It depends if you are trying to play iTune music or just mp3's from "your library" (not bought on itunes).
convert any mp4's to mp3's and put them back into your library
Your allowed a limit of 5 computers, so logically 5 iPods

Hello Dussier,

It's Apple's licensing deal with the record companies. They don't want you running around with too many copies of their music. The iPod syncs to iTunes. I had always heard that it was the other way around, but maybe iTunes is able to detect syncing with a different iPod.

You said that your three kids share the same computer. Do they have their own accounts on the computer (a Macintosh, right)? If that's the case, then you would have three separate iTunes files that would sync to their individual iPods. You just do that instant user switching thing at the top right, and each individual user could sync to their individual iPods. It might mean that you have to import the music separately for each one though.

Good luck.

As many as you want. It will recognize and work. You just need seperate accounts for all of them if they want different music in them. If not, you can just share 1 account and iTunes. It should recognize them all.

As many ipods as you want! They all have different USB addresses.

It should work, as long as you have enough USB ports.
