Do women instantly stop caring about their weight and looks as soon as you get the ring on? I got friends who have been married for a long time to very attractive wives.

What tests can I do to see if she is really in shape or shes just holdng back until she gets me in marriage and then its time to let everything go

Hopefully you get married for love. A shallow marriage such as you suggest is a short, unhappy one. You think you're perfect? The fact you asked this proves you are FAR from it. I'd rather have someone a little unattractive on the outside, especially due to something so easily rememdied, than have someone who is so obviously irreparably ugly through and through.

And no, I'm not fat.

I agree. It does seem as though once a woman gets married, she tends to get too comfortable and pack on the pounds. I am 28 years old, married for 8 years, have 2 children, ages 4&6 and am 5'6" and weigh 103. Granted, I have to work at it, but my husband is worth it. Too many women think that marriage and/or children is an excuse to get fat and ugly.
It is not really a "test," but if she only orders salads or doesn't really seem to each much in front of you, drop her like a hot potato. She is probably tyring to stay thin until she has trapped you.

Hate to sound like a jerk, but I notice more MEN gain weight after marriage than women. The pressure is too great for women to look good in our society.....more women care about appearance than men do. This is just observation ONLY and no, I am not married.

I hate to tell you this buddy, but the ripcord for weight gain is attached to men. Every guy I know that's gotten married has gained instant weight, while the wives stayed the same.

Perhaps she should be testing YOU.

Well yes it kinda is but it does go for both sexes. My husband and I both got comfortable after the wedding and gained a few pounds. (Me-8 him-12) Nothing serious. I have lost that weight now and weigh less than I did before we got married but he still has his post wedding pudge. Not that I care though cuz I love him and he's cute no matter what.

No, but it's all to common to start medicating herself with food to compensate for unhappy feelings. it's just like doing drugs or drinking to deal with problems.

Sounds like a shallow question, but a valid one. People should take care of themselves for themselves AND their partners.

You cannot do "tests" to find out isf she will gain weight. You can, however, look sor the "tells" that show you what she feels about herself. Look at her lifestyle. Is it sedintary or active? All people will age at some point, and metabolisms slow down. If she is acive now, she will maintain a healthy wieght in the future.

You can also inspire and motivate self-improving behaviors, but not with criticisms or insults. You can tell her that you love how she smells when she sweats, or how she looks when she is exercising. You can tell her that you admire her energy, etc. You could do activities with her, like tennis or swimming.

You have to deserve someone who cares about taking care of theirself. You can't just expect it. It means that you have to do the same thing, too.

Good luck!

While your question was asked in a most callous manner, you make a valid point. But, it does apply to men as well as women. Everyone should care enough about themselves and their partners not to just fall apart as soon as they get married and have kids. Not only from a visual standpoint, but also for their health. Just because you are married to someone doesn't mean you should stop trying to please them, and that includes maintaining your appearance.
