I worry ALOT, and was worrying, if, just before I left my girlfriends house after a visit, I smiled and said jokeily 'do I get a hug then?' does that sound rude or comical?

She is your girlfriend. Why would it be rude? At that point, why did you feel compelled to ask? Im sure you two have hugged at various points before.
In some ways it may even be sweet or cute-(id say pending your age that is). Dont worry about it. If she seemed offended then perhaps she may not necessarily be right for you, or she may also had a bad mood. Us women are very moody :) -- may have struck her at the wrong end and annoyed her, things like that get to me too from time to time.
DO Not worry about it. Thats one thing you dont have to worry about unless she explicitly says something about it.

It's neither rude nor comical. I think it's a bit weird. How long have you been seeing this girl? You should be at least at the hugging stage by now - it's not as if you're asking for a head job or anything!

I love it when a guy gets that lovey look in his eyes and says to me "Come here, give me a hug." then pulls me to him and hugs me. It gets me all warm inside.

Why would you have to ask for a hug? but just reading that it gives me the impression you asked after an arguement or not such a good visit, in which case don't ask, just give a nice supportive smile.

It depends on the way you say it. There are alot of people that can not pick up on humor and they think the person is just being a poo- head Just ask her . I worry too.

I don't think it was at all rude. It sounds as if you wanted a hug so you asked.

if you said it jokey that's fine but if you were aggressive it's a bit off. but it's not rude. ithink it's rather nice actually. try not to screw yourself up into knots about your relationship. remember if it's right and love is there then you can't really do anything wrong. i jump all over my fella and kiss him. he thinks i'm like a demented puppy but it's still not rude

Spend more energy focussing on others, like your girlfriend, and less time worrying about stuff like this & you won't forget next time.
