I like hip hop but seriously this new crap sucks. All I have to say is that I heard some songs on the way to work today on Sirius Satellite titled Shoulder Lean and Peanut Butter and Jelly. I'm a big fan of hip hop but I can see how people hate it. Give me the old school thats the best.

Not all of it sucks, but the majority of today's hip-hop does. It just all sounds the same, the lyrics are meaningless, it's just people getting behind a mic and a keyboard-and-drum beat trying to make a buck.
There are some good artists still out there, but it is not as good as it was 10-15-20 years ago.

Shallow lyrics- no heart, no meaning. Strictly for dancing. Music should inspire you; hip-hop is just one fad after another. I mean seriously; Bob Dylan wrote songs about discrimination, Janis Joplin sung about isolation and loneliness, Zep had songs about growing up. What does hip-hop offer? SNAP YO FINGERS??

Every song is about the same thing and theres no real tlent.Plus i cant relate to any of the lirycs.then they also care too much about how much money they have,cars and girls.Which is what they write about,and they dont make there own beats unlike rock. Not all of it suck,except for what mtv plays.

Hip Hop doesn't suck. Its just gotten more mainstream and commercial. But I would not say it sucks...lol! I am more into old school and Underground Hip Hop... you hardly ever hear it on the radio or see it on MTV or BET.

u suck hip hop is the best its the onli thing that has the best freakin beat that u can dance and poplock and get hyphe or go stupid (some of yall kno what i mean if not dont even bother word up ) ~1~

Because it's just over-rated, over-played, self-absourbed junk compiled of s**t songwriting, recycled samples from OTHER people's songs, & annoying "Artists" who get payed to do essentially nothing but mumble a few "Rhymes" over someone else's song & take all the credit for it.

In many cases, lyrics are idiotic if not unintelligible, music is either sampled (read: stolen) from other artists or is simplistic at best, and subject matter is trash.
