My friend was talking about downloading a program as an mdf or mds file, but I thought these were image files. Am most confused, help!!

Yes they are image files. Mostly the MDF files are. You can use programs such as Alcohol 120% or Daemon tools (Virtual drive programs) to load these image files and then install/read whatever is on the image.

debs is right...hes talking about downloading an alcohol disk image and either burning it or mounting it in daemontools to install. mdf and mds is part of the same image and they go together...one is the File part and the other is the Sub part of the image.

MDF files are one type of Adobe extension. Not sure about MDS.

.mdf and .mds are Alcohol 120%'s version of .bin and .cur files for disk images

Do you mean .md5? It is basically a way to make sure that the contents of the file are correct.

urmm.. i think, you can mount it using daemon tools.. and if u wanna burn it, u can just copy from your virtual device.. =D
