I write songs, but am clueless about cords, notes, and the like. I just know what the song is sappose to sound like in my head. Where can I find software or something to help me put music to my songs, the way I want them to sound?

If you have the bucks.

FinaleNotePad, by Syntrillion
Entering notes with sound. No combo playback.

CoolEditPro lets one mix, from wavs.
Allows record and playback.
Or
Band In The Box BUT $$$
Plays with Combo, Piano, Guitar, Strings, Bass, Drums, etc.
Both great.
Allows record and playback.

I saw Finale go for $499 on EBay. That was high for used.

the one I have is called finale it is user friendly for the most part. the only thing I do not like about it is that the instruments when you play back what you wrote do not sound the right way. There is another popular program called ....well..I can't remember. It is harder to use...a lot harder but the instruments sound more life like and it lets you do more both programs allow you to plug in a keyboard and it will write waht you play
