Breaking the emotional attachments you have had together takes time even when you know you do not want to be living with that person any longer. You have shared a life together for a period of time and shared a multitude of living habits together. its only natural that from time to time you will think of your ex and feel this way, its just the brains way of coping with some of the emotional baggage that's been left. It should ease off through time. Remember six months is not such a long time to get over anyone properly when you have been in a serious relationship.
Its probably more memories you are reliving in your dreams rather than actual desire to be back together again. Give it time.

Oh God! I dream about all of my ex significant other's all the time. I've even had dreams about my ex-husband where I'm very happy with him, sometimes in the back of my mind there is a niggle that something else is going on in my life (like my partner of 7 years) and sometimes not. I also dream about my first proper boyfriend (we were together 5 years) a lot.

Its natural to dream about people who were an important part of your life. Don't read too much into it.

Maybe you need to take a break from whomever you are seeing now, and figure out where you really are in your life,

maybe you've cut her out too much, and if you really dont want to be with her again, maybe you still need her as a friend,

6 months is quite sudden to be seeing someone especially if you were so much in love to be married, depending on how long you were married for, and how long you've actually known her for,

maybe you feel guilty for the failure of your relationship, and need to lay these feelings to rest ? takes a lot of insight to overcome these things (whether it be that you are still needing her or finding how to move on) good luck ! take some time for discovering you before you get in another relationship though, trust me on this one!

Loss and grief take a while to hit. It doesn't matter whether you are happy with the split or not, you still spend a long time with your ex and need time to get over the relationship.

It is normal, I would not worry about it at all. I dreamed of my ex up to 15 years after we split.

There is no controlling your subconscience which is where the dreams are coming from.

that's normal. I seperated from my ex about 2 years ago and I still dream about him. I hate it!
