does any one have a general date when the next Lord of the Rings is coming out in theatures?

There is no new lord of the rings movie coming out. But the new eragon movie comes out december 12th. check it out!!!!

it was a trilogy.
1. Lord of the Rings
2. Lord of the Rings the 2 towers
3. Lord of the Rings the return of the King

There were only 3 books in the J.r.r tolkien series of Lord of the rings. If there is going to be anything,there might be a Hobbit movie. I just read that they had plans for a Hobbit movie,but there's some kind of battle over movie rights and the movie has since been shelved. So the epic of middle-earth preportions will probably not appear anytime soon.

Considering Tolkien only wrote 3 Lord of the Rings "Chapters" since it is one big book essentially. There will be no more LOTR movies coming out. I'm hoping they will show the hobbitt which is the prequal to LOTR where Bilbo and Gandalf set out on a journey and Bilbo first discovers the ring

There are no more unfortunately. Their are plans to film "The Hobbit" but when that will take place, I don't know.
I do know that there will be new dvd releases of the Trilogy in August, containing more background information and documentaries and also the films as we know them.

Most have answered fairly correctly, HOWEVER....
Peter jackosn is currently working on the prequel, The Hobbit. It is currently a few years off from being complete though.

I am afraid there are only 3. But I have heard they might make a movie off the Hobbit.
