I am trying to have a beautiful renewal wedding, but my husband and i cannot afford to spend alot. I need to find caterers, and all types of stuff, a site, maybe that's sponcered by a non-profit,and we'd make a donation. Or if someone from a non-profit could help me get a place, I'd pay OF COURSE, but i'd really be able to use the discount.
It's really deppressing. But any advice would be appreciated.
I don't wanna have to wait 5 yrs before I can have my wedding.
thanks.............

Me and my finace just ran into the same problem. We decided that the best option for us is to get married in vegas. We would rather spend our money on the party not a dress that you wear for 2 hours. We now have more money for our honeymoon as well. We are basically paying about 500 for the wedding and around 1000 for dinner at a very nice resturant instead of a caterer that gives you hamburgers and hotdogs. This is the best option if you think of others instead of yourself. Not many people actually like going to weddings to just sit there and watch. Everyone likes to go and celebrate your wedding so I vote Vegas for you as well.

All inclusive honeymoon to cancun- 3,000
(Flight, Hotel, Drinks, Food)

Dinner at Japanese restaurant- 1,000
(For 30 People)

Wedding at the Tropicana in Vegas- 500
Includes Wedding DVD and no planning required)

Mother in law drunk and singing kareoke - Priceless

A lot depends on how much you are willing to do yourself and what you are willing not to have. You can rent a hall at a non-profit like a firehouse, Lyons, or VA group for much less than a catering hall. You can also ask them for recommendations for a reasonable caterer or do it yourself (having done one I can state that it is a lot of work - definitely hire waiters and waitresses). Ask a friend to be a photographer plus have disposable camera on the tables and put together your own album. Decorate the place yourself. You can cut the cost to less than half by following the above.

What city are you in? And how many guests are you inviting? Here in Dallas we're planning our wedding for next year, and total budget for everything, including a sit down dinner for 100 guests, minister, rehearsal dinner, wedding and engagement photos, gifts for the guests, wedding gown, and tux rental for the groom (me), two groomsmen, and both fathers will be about $15,000. This is at an upscale location, in Uptown (a very trendy part of Dallas).

Find good caterers and hire them. Buy your own wine from someplace and use that instead of hiring a bartender. Don't worry about decorations or too much crap that no one will remember. Remember, if you invite less people, the total cost will be less, so pare down your guest list.

Go to Las Vegas. I was just there for a wedding in Valley of Fire State Park, and it was great. Inexpensive airfare, hotels are cheap. Wedding in the state park was under $900.

I had about 50 guest at my wedding and I only spent about $3,500. on my wedding...i used my own home (my front yard), I made all the favors, invites, food....(tea sandwiches, meatballs, pasta salad, fruit salad, although, I did not make the cake...my grandmother did that for me-cake decorator for like 40 years). I was able to rent a dance floor for my guests that was assembled on grass (they can level it beautifully!) The dance floor was available at our local rental shop for about $200. I bought a tent for the food at a local grocery store for about $99. and sold it the day after the wedding to my maid-of-honor's father, the man who did free pictures for me, sure, they aren't professional but having great candids and nice-looking stills are fine by me. I got my wedding dress at David's Bridal, got all my pieces for it for less than $700. All I had to buy for my attire was pantyhose and shoes, personally, I can't see spending $60. on a pair of shoes I didn't like anyways...If you need more info, I can give you suggestions....just email me.
