0-3 is xtra small, 4-8 is small, 9-12 is medium, 13-16 is large, 17+ is xtra large. Does that help?

In JUNIORS the sizes are even. 0 is the smallest you can get and that is tiny!! They go up to about 16...then you get to women's sizes. They start over at 2 I think (but the womens 2 is bigger than a juniors 2) and they go up to about 18. Then you get into "plus sizes" which is 20 +

the dresses are normally the same as the pants, but some brands vary a bit.

the difference between the sizes isn't TOO much, but there is some. Usually one person can't fit into two different sizes, so if you want to buy a dress for a woman just make sure to look in her closet for sizes and keep the reciept just in case.

They are an arbitrary number defined to a set of limits that have no corelation to anything.

Overtime the numbers get smaller so that women feel better about themselves. A size 3 from 20 years ago is a lot smaller than a size 3 today. Likewise sizes 2,1 & 0 didn't exist until relatively recently.

I've wondered that too. Like, a man's size is usually the actual inches of that part of his body. If a man wears size 38 pants, that means his waist is 38 inches around. Or if he wears a size 44 suit, that means his shoulders are 44 inches apart. But a woman wears a size 3... what the hell is that? is it beause women don't want to actually hear what their actual measurements are so they put up those phony numbers to make themselves sound smaller. "Yes, ma'am, our women's size 44 pants are over there..."

Depending on the brand they start at different sizes. Where i may be a 0 in one brand i've been a 5 in another. Theres only a slight difference in size from one to another. If youre feeling brave go to the ladies section and look at pants in terms of waist and legth.

Absolutely nothing. When I go with my fiancee to buy her new clothes, every size is different in every store. One store she wears a 6, one store is a 7, one store is an 8. I don't get it. Guys pants are always the same waist " and length" ?

Meaning: the woman shops tirelessly, trying on one dress after another for four hours. Then she selects six or seven of them that are a size too smaall for her. Then her exhausted husband pays for them.

It really depends on the label. Different labels have different sizes.
