I have been waiting 4 months for a check-up to see if i have cervical cancer (they found a spot on my cervix after my son was born) I go to the appt. which they tell me has to be re-booked because the dr. is on vacation, I now have to wait until Oct.2. I am choked, I am also pregnent again. My son died of Sids last year at 11 days of age, so this will probably be my last child. now i have to worry about having cancer and my unborn child. would you not be choked also?

Sweetie, i believe ever thing will turn out good for you, so calm down, go to your safe place, you really do not need extra stress. The Doctor, evidently knows your situation, and by her putting this off, that could only mean that you do not have cancer. You have every right to be upset, but Doctors can be very insensitive to their patients........Think positive thoughts..God bless, and love!.:)

I am so terribly sorr to hear of the loss of your son. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Immediately change doctors! You should have been told the minute your test results came in. To go to an appointment and have the doctor be on vacation without them notifying you is disgusting; to have them tell you to wait until October 2nd is inexcusable. Now, you're pregnant and they want you to wait intil three months from now for an appointment? Cervical cancer is nothing to mess around with and this doctor's office ought to be shut down if this is the lackadaiscal approach they take to patients and life threatening diseases.

Talk to your friends and find another doctor immediately.Explain the dire circumstances and get the first appointment they have available. If you can't get afford another doctor, go to Planned Parenthood. I would call the local American Medical Association and any other medical association you can find and report this jerk. If you feel like it, have a protest outside his office. he doesn't deserve the privilege of serving the public in such an important capacity. Have strength and good luck. I'll be praying for you and your family.

Of course you have a right to be upset. That is your health you are talking about. I would be pissed off too. But on the other hand U could also have HPV which is almost always misdiagnosed as cervical cancer. If that is the case they are going to go in and clip the suspect area before it leads to cervical cancer. I dont know if thats good or bad news but at any rate i hope that every thing turns out alright for you and your un born.

I'm sorry to hear your problem, the best advice i can give is to go to another doctor. Then use the one in Oct for your second opinion. That why you can be 100% sure if you have cancer or not . Ask for a c-125 test ( I think that what the blood test is called) it will give a defeinte answer if you have cancer or not.

DO NOT wait till Oct for your appointment. Find another doctor, and go see them if there is not another doctor who can see you in your current office.

you have every right to be upset! i know i would be!

also, i'm so sorry to hear about your son.

fortunately, it may be soon enough to take action against the cancer. is it actual cancer cells, or PRE-CANCER cells? (i had "precervical cancer cells" a few years back, and had them removed. everything is fine now.) although your condition is IMPORTANT, it may not be as critical as the doctor has let on.

go see a doctor ASAP, though! GOOD LUCK!

Time to find another Doctor! This is potentially your life on the line and 4 months may make a difference in treatment options if you do have cervical cancer. Ask friends/coworkers who they might recommend and call and make the earliest possible appointment. 3 more months is unacceptable!

Yes you have a right to be upset, but you should've also gone to another doctor when you found out your regular doctor couldn't see you. If you haven't already done so, find another OB/GYN that accepts your insurance plan, and go to him/her. This is probably something that can't wait, regardless whether or not your regular doctor is being a dickwad. Good luck, love!

You should be upset.

They should not schedule an appointment - especially if it is for something as important as this - and then let the doctor skive off on something as trivial as a vacation.

They *owe* you this appointment.

Complain as loud as you can to as many people as you can. Take it to the newspapers. Call the CBC. Do what you have to do to get them to do the right thing.

I really hope this all turns out ok for you.

Im guessing it's not cervical cancer and if it isnt make sure you get (or try to get) the new vaccine that prevents cervical cancer! Four months is too long to wait for a follow up girl, get another doctor if possible.........Jewels

First, go ahead and go to another doctor. Second, don't worry. If its in the early stages they may just be able to freeze the cervix, it won't prevent you from having children, it just stops the cells from growing. Everything will be fine. Go ahead and make an appt. with another Dr.

you have absolutely every right to be upset!!!!
actually,if you're extremely worried,i wouldn't
wait 'til Oct 2,i would go to another Dr. to
find out if it's really cancer or not. cause
waiting could jeopardize you and your
unborn child.

get a second opinion before Oct.2
sooner than later.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
