With a lack of gainful employment being a factor, what stems from this? I have resorting to illegal means (drug selling) to get money as one, I need 2 more.

All of ya'll keep saying for any ethnic group, making excuses, blah blah blah. I'm not talking about ANY group, I'm SPECIFICALLY asking about BLACK youth for a reason. If you can't answer the exact question, don't answer, I don't want to read about anything else.

First, I want to say that anything can contribute to an increase in crime for any race/religion. I hate when society blames the lack of a father figure, gainful employment, etc.. on the reasons for crime. The fact of the matter is, is that there are plenty of jobs out there, however people who lack experience or education want to go into a job making 80K not realizing that everyone starts somewhere.

People choose not to do that and prefer to make money fast, therefore, they start on the path of illegal activities, and this is true for every race out there looking to make fast money

Not to say all rappers are helping this, but some are. When these young guys, black and white, look at the television and see somebody they look up to, making great money, and it seems to be non stop and instantly, they don't think, well, if I stay in school and make something of my self, then one day I will have more money then them. We as teenagers think that we should constantly be in the new forces, flashy clothes and such, and with out a job, or mom and dad giving limits, we resort in trying to be something we are not. Most of us either live around drugs or live in the burbs and want to live the rough life style. So basically what monkey sees, , monkey will want to do, however, monkey doesn't see how misleading it really iz!

There is also pimping, potential extortion, loan sharking, auto theft, mugging, perhaps even being a hitman.

Along the lines of drug dealing, you can be a lookout for protection (those guys need to get pais as well) or being a mule.

Other factors are lack of parental guidence and a general feeling of abandoment by society as a whole.

(This is in no way an approval of or an endorsement for this caliber of anti-social behavior)

The factors that lead to an increase in crime are the same for all ethnic groups. Single family parent, lack of education, and inner city poverty.
You need to break the cycle. Get an education.

An increase in crime like stealing, for example, can also come from a feeling that those stolen from either deserved it or wouldn't be harmed (they have enough $ to replace items or have insurance to cover it).

Increase in crime, or joining in criminal activity, can also come from the expectation of family and/or friends and peers. Crime may be the family business. Or a gang, which takes the place of a legitimate family, often values certain behavior that goes against the norm or expectation of society.

They're born into a victim's mindframe. They're quick to blame racism for everyhing, though I've met a few when I was in highschool that just weren't willing to do anything for themselves. They were depending on social programs/Affirmative Action to get them through life. When that doesn't work out, they get angry and lash.
