I know all cultures around the world have something in common but French and Italian culture are extremely close.

I believe it is that they both went through a considerable cultural change during the Renaissance. The art, music, education, and philosophy of both countries "grew up" together.

French and Italian cultures share common ancient Roman heritage. Italy was the heart of the Roman empire and the territory of France is what used to be a Roman colony Gallia. The french and italians have very similar languages, which are based on Latin, the language used in ancient Rome.

I don't think you've even been to France or Italy, because they aren't at all alike.
