well dress up as a 70s person and dont forget the big fake eyeglasses and the fake afro with the comb. the best thing to wear would be a Angel Flight Suit: Coordinated disco suit with jacket, vest, and flared pants. Your shirt had to be a shiny satin with the large collar. when people get there, offer them free smiley-face stickers. have a disco ball and get a 70's music CD and play it loud. at the party, dont forget to do 70's moves while dancing. talk using 70's sayings and dont forget to have bowls of food with food from http://www.inthe70s.com/generated/food.shtml
becuz that is food that was popular in the 70's. dont forget to also play Panic! @ the disco, too since even tho they r modern the band name is appropriate.

Well, let's see -- here's a few ideas...

- Music - Use an IPOD, PC or burn a few CD's with 70's dance (disco etc.) music. Throw in some 70's Rock for good measure.
- Get a few lights, disco ball, maybe a lava lamp.
- Get pictures of celebs etc. (small ones). And when everybody comes over, have them tape to their back. Dont' tell them who it is. The goal is for each person to ask others at the party for clues as to who is taped to their back. (its a good way to get people to mix with one another)
- Have a mix of muchies-- Chips, Drinks, finger-food (pigs in a blanket, chinese dumplings, mini pizzas-- all stuff you can get at costco)
- Get a cake of course. I'm sure there's probably a 70's theme cake you can get-- otherwise just wing it.

Key ingredients-- Music, Food, Drink, People willing to have fun.. Mix 'em up and you'll have a great time.

if it's a 70's party, make sure you have disco, obviously very popular from 78 - 80.

As someone who lived the horror, the '70s was all about the Me Generation. So make it all about you.

well get the big mirrored ball , disco music , strobe light , go to second hand shop and get your vintage clothes . remember to serve what the 70's would have had . , Pringles , Tab , (no diet coke) , Coke , and last but not least ,,, the FONDUE ,,, ask Mom or Grandma about it .

Don't worry people in their 70s can't do that much.
