Republicans have control of pretty much the whole south, just a few decades ago, it was all dominated by Democrats.

I do think it's funny that they all deny it on here when it's proven history.

For those who fail to recognize this, may they be reminded that Ken Mehlman - their party chair admitted to its divisive history and here's a (fairly lengthy) article about its history:

Isn't it ironic that they counted slaves as 1/10th of a person before it was abolished and in Florida in 2000 you were 10 times more likely to have your vote not count if you were black. I'm starting to think we should have just let the South become their own nation.

no i dont think they are aware of the tactis used than as well i dont think we the people are aware of the tactis used back than as well in order to ever prevent it from happening again i believe that it is not them who need to be educated on that factor it is us that should be educated in order to better choose a candiate to represent us and stand up for the people and not the money

All a politician has to do is murmur tax increase in Alabama and they are dead ducks. I've never heard anything about race though.

Yes they are. I lived in Alabama. I've not met a single one of them who didn't USE that racism to get into office. Also, I haven't met a single white politician in Alabama who wasn't biggotted. (By the way, I'm white.)
