Of all the tiny affordable roadsters I think it is one of the nicest

I love the looks and the price but like mentioned the cargo space leaves a lot to be desired. But to fix an error the Pontiac Solstice does not come in a V6. The base is a 2.4L and the GXP is a 2.0L Turbo.

As for the comment about it vs. the Miata, all I got to say is please. The stats show that under road test at Edmunds is the Base Solstice is only track noticeable slower than the Miata. The variation that is there could be driver preference rather than a significant difference in the vehicle. As for Autocross if it’s so slow why is there talk especially from Miata drivers to have the Base Solstice moved from CS to BS. If it was such a poor performer then wouldn’t it make since that if there was any talk of moving it would be to a lower group? I know it’s the tires.

Personally, I would/am considering the GXP version of the Solstice. It’s got a lot of stuff that you just won’t find on the Base model. I just hope that by the time I’m ready to get one I won’t have to wait half a year for one. This is probably the biggest turn off for the car.

All the road tests I read on the MX6 vs Miata had the Mazda only slightly ahead in some performance categories, because it has slightly more power and a little less weight. Handling & all else is very similar. The Solstice GXP puts 100 more horses under the hood - now which do you think will be the better autocrosser?

Looks on the Pontiac are much nicer. I'm a Pontiac dealer, and can't get enough of them to satisfy demand. Even with limited production, Pontiac is trouncing Mazda in sales volume.

So I ask you, which car would you rather have? No contest. I'll take the Solstice!

It's a very nice car, and a good thing to see GM still make a vehicle that is fun. Although for pure driving fun, the Miata is still a better performing car. The Solstice is more of a cruiser, than autocross runner. But if you don't plan on really racing it, the Solstice is a good choice.
Also, I'd suggest looking at the Saturn Skyy. It's the same car as the Solstice, but I think the Skyy has a much better looking exterior.

I own one. I love it. But, if you are planning a trip where you will need luggage, buying a case of beer, or grocery shopping......forget it. No trunk. It is hot looking. It is fast, but it is impractical. With all that said, did I mention I LOVE IT!!!!
