YES!! And it was scary, but it fascinates me! There are real pictures on the internet of the Defoe family (not sure on the name spelling) laying in their beds after they were murdered. I believe I typed in Defoe murder investigation photos or something like that. That is what the movie is based on. Supposedly the murders took place because the oldest child heard "voices" that told him to kill his whole family! Also you can find pics of the actual Amityville house. The new owners have changed the spooky windows!!

Which one..there is the original that they made in the '70s and the updated version. I liked the updated on better because it was scarier, the older one is good because it's the original, but the effects are awful, naturally. It's a good story, and it did freak me out a little bit, because we've all heard something in our house at one time and wondered if it was more than just the wind.

I liked it. i does not take a seat there and evaluate it to the 1st one. It does despite if beat the hell out of aspects 3 and four. once you're searching for yet another sequel type action picture, inspect "The Exorcist III" staring George C. Scott. I only theory that i'd throw that available because of fact it became an rather underated action picture.

Watched it several times and while it was downright terrifying when I was younger, it still is pretty spooky today (20+ years later). I grew up on Long Island and after the film came out, we drove by the house in question. It was pretty creepy seeing it 'in person' even if just from the road.

It was a good horror/thriller for its time. For the movie the story was stretched out a bit.

I've seen it and I don't think you can blame the house on those kind of psychotic problems, I think its the people that live there not the house, because people live there now and they're not crazy like that.

the original version was MUCH better than the remake!

also, George Lutz recently died. after he and his family abandoned the house after the "haunting", they tried to buy it back some years later.

the first movie was very creepy!

I saw both versions, own the new one. I prefer the new one, because it goes into better detail, and it's scarier.

Yes. It scared me. I heard it was based upon a true story.
