Good question. My mom, I guess. It's hard to say - I kind of just fend for myself these days.

My mother. Growing up, my brother and I had everything we wanted. We were the first on the street to get the coolest and newest things. My mom raised us alone and she worked two jobs. We ate what we thought was the best things, hot dogs, hamburgers, spaghetti and things that were done fast that we also could help with. She taught us to cook and bake cakes. All of ours friends loved coming to our house. I would ask for expensive things and she found a way to buy it. I thought we were rich. As an adult, I have come to find out that mother really struggled to keep everything up and keep us happy. We never knew she had financial trouble. I try to be that way with my daughter. Occasionally, I have to tell her that we just can't afford it right now. Maybe later we can save and see what we can do. My mother is my hero.

This is a tie between my mother and my stepfather. My mother raised me and my 2 younger sisters by herself till I was 11 years old. (My real father has never been around enough to call him a father) I know that it was very tough for her to raise 3 kids alone. But she did it the whole way. My stepfather came around when I was 11, and my mother was around 33. He stuck with my mother through it all, even though we were very unkind to him for years. He took us all in as a family, and he was only 22 years old! I am half his age. It takes a very great man to do something like that, and he had to grow up fast in order to be with my mother. That shows me that he has always truly loved her. I love and respect both of them more than anyone else in the world. They are truly amazing and I feel so blessed that God has chosen me to have them as my parents.

Other than my parents (dad - for making me think; mom - for making me act), and my fav teacher in school, it would be Robert A Heinlien, sci fi author whose books changed my views in many aspects of life, particularly a compilation of articles called Expanded Universe, and Friday. Maybe if I read them now, they would be just another book on the shelf, but when I was 12-13, they really did expand my universe.
