Sure, that's possible. It's also possible we are just characters in the thoughts of some unimaginably intelligent beings mind. It's possible that we are living in some kind of matrix. It's possible that the real reality is much more complex than what we observe and that we are simply shadows of a sort.
All these things are possible, but there's certainly no reason to think they might be actual.

Well, the mystics agree with you in that they say that this plane is illusory, or not real in an absolute sense. Actually, it's not a dream... and how do we know this? Because we dream, and we are [well most of us are] in an awakened state relative to our dream state when reading or posting on this process to pass time.

try to think about it the other way around...really...i think that our dreams could actually be describing our life...it's soul travel...the power of the mind is not bound by time...deja vu anyone?

hmmm...dreams denote something fluffy and sweet and pretty and charming, fun, all the good stuff
life as we know it is probably more of a nightmare.
