there are alot of things to "look at" in vegas which is free...such as the light and pirate show at "Treasure Island", lots of the hotels have sort of little "zoos", the "Flamingo" has birds, other hotels have sharks and tigers. The "Rio" has a mardi gras parade (inside the hotel)every hour or so. You can wonder the clubs and see all the different sites: the New York skyline, the Eiffel Tower, Egyptian statues, etc.

Okay, I want my ten points when the time comes, because you will spend much more time checking out this free vegas information site than u will enjoying the vague answers you're getting. The site has a section designed to give advice on exactly what you're looking for, including summaries about the spots, I think it's called the Top ten free thing in Vegas or something, and there's also TOP TEN VALUES in Vegas.

I use that site every time I go. In downtown, The Freemont Experience is kinda cool, with a giant screen stretching a few blocks over the walkway where there are short shows every evening. Try to split a cab with some others going there, or take the bus which does go very slow stopping every block.

10 points, u know this............man

SPECIFICALLY: see the Bellagio fountain show, TI (Treasure Island) pirate show, Mirage volcano eruptions, MGM live lions, Fremont Street Experience lightshows (different every hour after dark), Star Trek Promenade at Hilton, Carnival Parade at Rio, all free. The cheapest shows are downtown, afternoon, where you get in for the price of a drink. The Stratosphere has the same deal, with coupon. This includes comedy, music, Elvis impersonators, and magic shows. Check the magazines that have coupons, maps, and listings that are free in your room or in the lobbies. If you have a car, you use the free valet parking, right? Just tip $2 when you pick up. Otherwise, the trolley will take you around the Strip for $2, which is a lot cheaper than the monorail and includes both sides of the Strip.

As people have told you in other answers, just exploring the place is fun and tiring -- and free.

As for gambling on the cheap, I like to go from casino to casino and get the little booklets and use it all up to whatever degree I can. For example, maybe they will give you a free shrimp cocktail and a free pull on a machine. Some give you a free play at the tables if you lose -- they cover your bet until you lose once.

the other thing that you can do -- although I have to admit I never have in Vegas -- but go to these places that are trying to sell you a timeshare. They will require that you tour the place and get hit up by this pushy salesperson -- who you just have to keep saying no to. But for your trouble, you usually not only kill a morning or afternoon -- but they usually also offer you a cash stipend of like $100 or free sow tickets or something like that.

You won't become rich, but you will have lots to do and it really won't cost much.

You can priceline the hotel and get a nice place for $50 per night. Ask that question and find what others have recently paid for rooms at various places.

Just walking the strip from one end to the other looking at all the different hotels takes at least a day and a half. And most of the themed hotels have daily shows they put on outside. Just take a walk and explore all the different and interesting hotels they have out there.

I'm going to Vegas soon myself and found a thing at the Luxor where you preview movies or TV shows that aren't out yet to get your opinion and they even have new slots sometimes where they want to know what you think about the slot and it is free to go there. There is also a thing at the MGM where you preview shows as well
