So that when you are reading it, you might want to add something or correct yourself, you could hit edit. Or if you feel for some reason that you might say something to violate guidelines you can just delete it...It does go away but only after the questions answers go into voting for best answer and once the answer is best answer, it cant be edted or deleted either. Thats all hun...nothing to worry about. Completely normal....NO ALIENS ATTACKED your computer! lol

That is just there for you to edit your post or delete it if you want to. Sometimes you want to add seomthing you forgot or you may change your mind and delete the post. Other people cannot see the "Edit & Delete" words. It doesn't go away.

That would be so you can edit or delete your answer. It goes away once the question has a best answer selected or it goes into voting.

Well it would not be right if it allowed you to Edit and Delete other peoples answers (Though it might be nice sometimes) You can only change your mind on your own answers.

no, it always leaves you the option 2 eather edit(change) or delete your answer, in case you dont like it or something. u dont have 2 do anything tho, you can just leave it as it is if u want

It's just giving you a second chance - to either change something or think again and realize you were just being sarcastic and delete your answer.
It's the way the program works, don't take it personally.
