yeah, i was fired 2 years ago. i was glad because i was studying at the same time (night classes) and juggling a job that's physically taxing, school that's mentally draining, and enduring long hours of commute -- it has taken a toll on my health. my blood pressure decreased drastically (95/60) because of fatigue and dehydration and i was dizzy all the time (sometimes experiencing episodes of blindness) but im not the type of person who gives up. finally, i was fired because of an argument with a relative who happens to be the director in the department, she convinced my manager to fire me. i was upset because i wouldn't have any income, but in days, my health just sprang back into life, i was healthier because i had more time to rest during the day.

3 weeks later, my manager called me to ask me to work for her again (i guess she can't live without me). so i worked for a couple of months more and finally i resigned (because of school schedules) but i was in good terms with my manager.

situation was, I was in the hotel business...restaurant manager, learned my lesson and I vowed I would never work in such place anymore...I went to school for it but I found out that its the most crappiest job there is...you spend more time in the restaurant/hotel than with your family, or even yourself...basiclly, you don't have a life when you work there...no holidays, work long hours, cover up others shift when they show up, the general manager is a *****(his way or the high way)...The pay wasn't even worth all the hard work and the headache...Then, somebody introduced me to the world of SALES...OMG! it's the best job...gets pay 3 times more than the hotel, go home the same time the boss do, most of the time a little earlier...off on all the holidays, my boss is one awesome human being that cares about everybody that works in that place and, I can honestly tell you, I am very happy with my job and been here for almost 2 yrs. I didn't know I can sell something...I've never thought of doing it before...I'm just glad somebody gave me a chance and I sure took it and ran...Hotels/restaurants, are the things of the past for me...I learned from it and I can only take good memories with me to help me become better

Yeah...I was kinda pissed about the circumstances surrounding my involuntary resignation (basically, my supervisor was apparently intimidated by me and looking for an excuse to get rid of me so she used someone else on thin ice against me)...but I desparately wanted out of there and was bound by a tuition agreement (would have had to pay them back had I resigned on my own). Long story short, I'm better off now, making more money than my coworkers who are still there, no longer paying for parking...I want another job closer to home, but for the time being, my current situation is much better than the one I was in four years ago.

You bet...actually it came down to being able to resign (fought for that)...the office was the worst place I'd ever worked - most of the people were rude, and their clients even worse -- they said I was rude...I finally told someone off after 2 years of constant abuse and ignorance...never looked back as it was a 'blessing in disguise'. I landed a much better job - salary increase, more challenging, interesting and fulfilling work, and the co-workers are civil and fun, and the bosses are great people...like I escaped from hell and ended up in utopia!

I was let go from the company that I currently work for (about four years ago). I wasn't happy about it at the time, but a couple weeks later someone from another department called me up and asked if I'd come back to work for her. I did and I am much happier in this new position so it all worked out for the better.

Once. My boss was a complete and utter b**** to me for months, and she eventually said I had two options - be terminated or resign. I resigned gladly, and went home that day with a box of stuff from my desk and a smile on my face.

Yes! Sometimes it's the best thing for you. It forces you to accept your crappy existance and press on. At that point, you have to sink or swim.

You are not your khakis.
