All of you have heard all about A-Rod and his little slump of late, but why in the hell do you boo him. This guy is by far the best player on the team and was the MVP last year, how can you boo him. My thinking is that only stupid Yankee fans would ever boo the reigning MVP. I remember a couple of years ago when Jeter starting the season like 0-2500 or something, and the fans booed him. Jeter gave them 4 championships yet they booed him. They need to realize that every player goes through a slump and that them booing A-Rod during his current slump is only hurting him and hurting the team because of it.

I have to say I'm dissapointed in all the Redsox fans defending the Yankee fans. I thought it was supposed to be if your a Redsox fans you hate anything to do with the Yankees and vice versa. Maybe I'm wrong. Also, I wasn't saying that Yankee fans are literally unintelligent. Let me rephrase my question. Are Yankee fans stupid to be booing A-Rod? Is that better?

No, Yankee's fans are not morons. It's the real fans who understand all players have slumps and can't always be perfect. I'm a Yankee's fan and I don't boo A-Rod because of the way he's playing. I guess some Yankee's fans think that because he's being paid so much he should be perfect. Nobody is perfect! The media is just having a field day with this A-Rod thing though. They have made it sound so much worse than it really is. I mean, he played good in the series against the Rangers didn't he?! Last year Yankee fans booed Jason Giambi. It was Derek Jeter who came out and sort of chastised the fans about booing him. Now the Yankee's fans love Giambi! It's just a slump. (By the way, Derek Jeter is the best Yankee's player at the moment. Look at the stats...)

Educated Yankee fans don't boo our players. The morons who go to the ballpark, just because they paid the money for their tickets, aren't necessarily true Yankee fans.
Go sit in the bleachers sometime, with the REAL fans. Nobody out there is booing A-Rod.
The booing is also getting hugely exaggerated. And when Jeter started the season 0-30 or whatever... NOBODY booed him. NOBODY.
And anyway, you act like fans in Philly or Boston have never booed their own players when they've failed in big spots. Some of it's justified because A-Rod is the highest paid player in the game... but mostly its just stupid people who know as much about the Yankees as George W. Bush knows about Scientology.

You don't know Yankee fans. They booed Mantle, they booed Guidry, Jackson. New Yorkers are the most knowledgeable fans in all of sports. They expect only the best and if they feel you aren't giving it at that moment they will boo you. For Yankees fans winning anything less than a Worlds Championship is losing season.

The Yankees are best going to present him arbitration. If he and his agent agree, a 3rd get together will come to a decision his significance. If A-Rod does not be given what the arbitrator proposes, the Yankees will likely be presented a primary circular draft prefer from his new workforce. My guess is that he'll quickly be signing with the Angels, the workforce that needs him probably the most, despite the fact that the Mets, too, are expressing an curiosity.

umm jeter is the best guy on the team,look at the numbers and the errors etc etc,second off what abouth the redsox fans booing manny last year,i know every player goes in a slump but heres the thing when you pay 25 million for something you expect it to work,if you bought a 25 million dollar house and only one light worked in it would you not complain?highest paid player in the game,slumps are slumps everyone has them,but a hitting slump and 3 errors a game is not acceptable,honestly i dont agrre with booing,but we pay top dollar for seats and his salary,yes we as fans pay it(not all but alot of it)we have a right to complain look at carl pavano,hes in hiding cuz in new york theyll kill him

Maybe Yankees fans are just more passionate about their team. Also a lot of Yankees fans supported A-Rod through his slump, the media just blew it out of proportion.

I would say they are not quite the biggest morons ever (even though they rank up there in the top 3), but they are the most spoiled. They are used to their team winning and their highly payed players doing well, but A-Rod isn't. And you're right, they are obviously not helping him at all, but that's what you get when George Steinbrenner owns your team. Spoiled rotten fans.
