My GYN told me that women retain water while on their period, even in their brains! I thought that was crazy, but he said that is why womens attitudes change during this time for us. It makes us moody. He also said that if you notice, you will urinate more on your period...your bodies way of getting rid of the excess water. You could take a pill recommended by your gyn. for this problem. I do not remember the name though....sorry.

Midol contains a mild diuretic to help reduce the fluid in your body. Try to drink a lot of water, instead of sodas (which contain a lot of sodium) and that will help, too.

Cut back on your daily carb intake. It'll help with cramping too.
