THERE is NO reason to believe God used just 6,000 years to create the earth. Period. Nothing in the Bible indicates this at all. This is the belief of a few old men behind pulpits AND IS NOT BASED ON BIBLICAL FACT. According to the Bible, it does indicate that "one day can be as 1,000 years," however, in Heaven "one day can equal anything God desires," since Heaven is outside this Universe and not restrained by our (the Universes) laws. What mankind has been so generous to do is place "our will" upon God. In other words, they take ONE scripture and apply it "throughtout" the entire Bible. Only a small minded person would do such a thing without reading further.

Also, there is no indication that God didn't intervene at certain points and apply his knowledge to species to "direct" their growth in a direction pleasing to him. This would have been well within reason for him to do, after all, he was their creator. To think otherwise, well, it would be small and asinine. After all, the Bible says, "who can know the mind of God." So for anyone to say that "no, God doesn't work that way!" How do they know HOW god works? He's simply beyond our knowledge and as long as it DOESN'T contradict the Bible and nothing I've said here has, then its up to THEM to prove otherwise.

Sure. In fact many religions, such as Catholicism,
endorse evolution (they just believe God gave humans
a soul at some point). I've put in a good link where the pope
expresses the thougt that the Intelligent Design arguments demean God.

Listen, this is a goth talking. I do believe in evolution, but I also believe in a god: ME, cause that`s the only god ever worth worshiping, no matter you`re religion.

Fundamental (most types, actually) Christianity states that God created man and all of the animals. We are not given many more details than that. Evolution states that man developed from apes.

Doing away with creation does away with a creator (creators are superior to their creations). Mankind has, over the millennia tried to do away with or lower God in various ways (one fo the first being the Tower of Babel). If man is the pinnacle of development, and developed so entirely on his own, he need not give any credit to a creator.

That evolution ("change through time") occurs is indisputable. Ask any animal breeder or horticulturist for contemporary examples

It is the method that God uses to change stuff.

Doesn't it make sense that an Almighty Being created a self-regulating, self-operating system as elegant as genetic evolution? And who is to say that He doesn't help it along with a favorable mutation now and then ?

You can believe in God and evolution at the same time. Millions of people do.

You cannot believe in a strictly literal interpretation of the Bible and evolution at the same time.

I think evolution is the best proof of God there is. It's kind of like cooking - you start off with a few basic ingredients, and add spices and stuff, and keep tweaking it until it's perfect - but as ever good cook knows, it's not ever perfect, there is always room for improvement.

In other words, He is the missing link.

Alessa it extremely is a brilliant question, and what the Evolutionist have been attempting to do for years, to debunk Christianity and the theory of no longer in basic terms Adam and Eve, yet that there grow to be a guy referred to as Jesus who claimed he grow to be God, grow to be our redeemer, died for our Sins, grow to be resurrected and ascended to heaven. His dying with 2 thieves additionally left us with a predicament, by using fact the thieves are mankind. Which thief have been we a million) the repentant thief who's in Heaven right this moment or 2) the thief that mocked Jesus and is separated from God for eternity. So, you're precise, if Evolution is fact, than the story of Jesus grow to be the main important hoax ever documented, or, if Jesus lived, he grow to be an entire lunatic. One calls for faith, One would not, fairly, makes use of propaganda and technological understanding according to fiction. One says you have Salvation by Christ the different, once I die i visit be deep six-ed and decay in a grave, it extremely is it. I chosen the former, or ought to declare He chosen me. although, from a basically 'widely used' point of view, would not a individual choose an afterlife it extremely is imagined to be extraordinary, as antagonistic to a meaningless existence. thank you Bri
