nope. absolutely not. I'm not saying that they are a bad team without skills; but, what they did in WC 2006 was really disgusting, esp. in the semi-final and the final.

In both semi-final and final, the Italian team was constantly trying to hurt its opponent teams' essential players. Players such as Ballack, Klose and other defenders. In the final, they've seriouslly injuried France's best players: Vieira, Henry, and Ribery in early stages so Italian team has the better chance of winning. As for the conspiracy who they really want to out of the field was Zidane, and they did get their wish. Now, I'm asking for everyone's judgements... (NO Italian supporters, please!) would anyone say Italy deserved of winning the world cup without fully competing against the best players of its opponent team? Without competing with the best, even with 4 claiming titles world champions, but the reality is that its win from 2006 was undeserved. They should be shameful from how they won the world cup.

I don't think it's a question of deserving to win. The winning team has to play 7 matches. They aren't gonna be brilliant in every one and luck sometimes plays a part. But you have to be consistent over the tourney, and Italia was definitely that over the World Cup. Their teamwork was outstanding, defense extraordinary plus they score goals. They didn't play the most attractive football but guts genrally beats beauty anyway.

Well they certainly didn't have the bext players and their only good performance was against Germany in the semi-final. Certainly if Zidane hadn't gotten himself sent off France would have won. They did have an awesome defence, but very little flair. IN a world cup with very little quality they certainly weren't the best, but they did really work for it.

No team desrves to win anything. They have to earn it. Thats why there are season schedules, playoffs, and World Cup tournaments. Italy earned the right to be champions like all champions before them.

Yes. For many reason. Best football. Best players. Best group. Best trainer. Best tactics. Never in danger to get a goal (except with Ukraine). Some of the best strikers in the world (Toni, Inzaghi, Gilardino, Iaquinta). Only team in any WC since 1930 which did not concede a goal from action (1 self goal and one - non existing given dive - penalty only), scored with 10 men (pirlo, iaquinta, gilardino, materazzi 2, del piero, totti, inzaghi, toni 2, zambrotta, grosso), scored 6 goals in last 3 games of finals (vs 3 of France of which 2 penalties, both dives + 1 goal). Had more occasions in final (even if in 2nd half France kept the ball but to no avail - no chances except one by Zidane)Win was not a surprise for me given 4-1 inflicted to Germany in April and win over holland also in spring. No other team had strength forward and in defence like Italy. Midfield good not great as Totti injured badly. However he was instrumental with his touches of class nobody seemed to notice: made sure Italy scored often vs France which never scored (Zidane best player??? I laugh about it). Italy won even with totti, its best player, at 50% of physical capability and with negative referring as usual. Imagine!!

The only good teams they met were only Germany and France, where their lucky stars (and Medina Cantalejo) helped them, and even against average teams they struggled (USA and Australia anyone?) and they had to win with a discussed penalty. Luck and fixing gave them the cup

Sure!We have the best defense in the world and great players...We scored 11 and only 1 own goal (our keeper's the best), no one broke our defense...The French needed a penalty kick to score...FORZA AZZURRI!!
