I'm born and raised here in the U.S. and everybody I know hates him. Even republicans are going against him. I can't wait for 2009 when I get to vote for a new, better leader.

Tony Blair is no where near as hated as Bush. I'm American but I still like Tony Blair OK, definitely better than Bush. He doesn't talk like an imbecile and he has charm. I can at least understand why people voted for him. In fact I bet the only reason a Brit would not like Blair is because he associates with Bush so much. What else would anybody have against him?

At least the Brits understand us. They have similar politics and they don't have any good alternatives. Just like weren't given a decent alternative to Bush in the last election. The 2 worst presidential candidates in US history I would say. In spite of the fact that the democrat was a nobody that nobody liked he almost beat the incumbent. That just goes to show how much we hate Bush.

Americans don't hate Bush; they hate the fact that they voted first for Algae the Green Guy and then for the Moron from Massachusetts and got their a**es kicked both times by margins so small that it still leaves a bitter taste in their mouths.

I say, do the right thing and make another of your hated corporations richer by buying a little mouthwash to get rid of the bad taste.

Then, get a life - no, don't wait until 2009 to do it; stop your interminable procrastinating and do it TODAY, just like the big boys and girls do!

Oh, and a(nother) word of advice - you ain't necessarily gonna like the guy you get in 2009, either; break off with the pipe dreams, already!

Lastly, try to get out more 'cause if "everybody [you] know hates him" you're living in a closed little world of your own where "everybody" sits around reinforcing each other's (limited) points of view - turn on Jim Lehrer's News Hour or read The Economist and join the world of differing points of view. You'll learn something - really!

I personally dont hold particularly high regard for Tony Blair. I respect him for his leadership in the economy and some of his social policies are definately heading in the right direction.

On the other hand, I am deeply suspicious of Mr Bush, his political party, the various and occasionally terrifying "special interest groups" that seem to be so very influential in american politics and their hidden agendas. I also deeply disapprove of Blair following Bush into whatever international misdemeanour is the order of the day, like some obedient dog, many of which strike great odds with the feelings of great swathes of the electorate.

Yes, I'd prefer a Democrat. But someone half decent first.

The problem in the UK is there is no real, viable alternative. Tony Blair has done a brilliant job, it's only the fact that he followed Bush to war that has seen his popularity decline.
I remeber the previous Tory reign, and boy was this country in a mess, at least under Blair things have improved (people forget that though).
