Motorola's are built to last, and you cannot do much to the things to break it. My dad has one and loves it. Only downside is some of their models have a tendency to have software problems.

I have an LG and I have never had any problems with it. The thing is they aren't as durable as the Motorola's. You couldn't throw and LG on the pavement and expect it to survive.

So, if you need a phone that needs to take a beating, get the Motorola.

If you don't need a phone that needs to take a beating, then I would say get the LG

I've used and sold both. The Motorolas are very good phones, but I have had problems with a lot of dropped calls with them. My LG never dropped my calls. I currently have 2 cell phones, 1 is Motorola, the other is Kyocera. The Motorola still has poor sound quality, and though the Kyocera doesn't have the fancy features of the Motorola, it has much better reception which is what I need ... to hear the caller and for them to hear me. Display is better on the LG and Kyocera than the Motorola also.
Have fun shopping.

I've had both, Motorola first, now an LG. I really do like them both. It woudl depend on the model you are looking at. My LG is 100 times better than my boyfriends Motorola, but that's because he just went and bought one, without "shopping around" for different models. Do research on them, find one that suits you and your needs. You'll be happy with either brand. Just be choosy with the model.

I have the Motorola E815 And I love it. Its the best (longest lasting) phone that I've ever had. I've had Cingular, Sprint, and now Verizon. Yeah I think they could be cheaper on the plans, but its good service and I also get reception underground. I also have the capability to create my own ringtones using my computer, so I don't have to spend money on the ringtone services. I love the speaker phone feature...its crystal clear. Oh and if you still were wondering about the "cretaing your own ringtone" thing...let me know.
