What is a christine?

2006-07-27 06:50:16 · answer #1 · answered by Blunt Honesty 7 · 2 2

The Princess Bride and The Chronicles of Narnia come to mind. The Princess Bride has a lot of humor and is pretty benign regarding beliefs. It uses some fantasy elements but it doesn't put any religion down. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was written by C.S. Lewis who was a Christian. There is quite a bit of positive Christian symbolism in the movie.
Another one I recently saw was the new King Kong. While there is nothing mentioned of religion as that is not the focus of the movie, it does have a couple bad words (but I was willing to overlook them-- I dislike bad language in movies).
The entire Star Wars series is excellent as well....that is if you haven't seen them. There is only one 'hell' and one 'damn' used in the first movie and the last 5 are profanity free.
Hope this helps. I know there are more out there--just don't want to ramble on and on.
Have a great day!

"Pink Floyd Presents: 'The Wall'" is a really good one for the pure, Christain youth of today.

I especially like this one scene where the main character gets a--

--No wait, that one has sex...

Well, how about the scene where he shoots up some--

--No, wait that one's got drugs...

Hmmm...

Well then, how about that one scene were he goes nuts on stage & starts shouting "Are there any--

---No wait that's got swearing....& it might go against the beiliefs of SOME Christians....

Hmmm...This is a little harder than I thought.

"The Wall" is still a good movie, though. It has a few scenes here & there that some really closed-minded people may find questionable, but noting too extreme, like say, "Bambi" for instance.

I would still recomend it as a good morality-flick potraying Right over Wrong & Good vs. Evil.

Trust me, "The Wall" is WAY more tame than "Bambi". It's a good family-oriented movie & perfectly acceptable for less niave children & young adults.

They should be able to relate & benefit from the complex, & moving storyline.

Innocence is such a beautiful thing, & I would hate to see it spoiled by some of the mindless garbage in the media today.

I think "The Wall" would be a good compromise between true moral values & a slight dose of reality as well.

he, he, he....

Finding Neverland, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Caribbean I & II (OK, I'm a big Johnny Depp fan); Cheaper by the Dozen, Shrek, The Village, Superman Returns, Superman I-IV (though premarital sex is implied in Supes II and Returns); Batman Begins; X-Men I-III; Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (my all-time favorite, 18-year-olds would do well to see it); Spiderman I-II; Passion of the Christ; Napoleon Dynamite; all Star Wars; all Lord of the Rings; The Lion, the Witch & The Wardrobe; some Christians like the Harry Potter movies; Pride & Predjudice; Nicholas Nickleby (underrated & awesome)

Hmmm, this is tough because even some animated films have swearing in them these days. It's really hard to find anything like that. I will agree that Napoleon Dynomite is a good one. That movie cracked me up. Anyways, try some movies that aren't over a PG or PG-13 rating. (Note: Some PG-13 may also be considered unsuitable for you.) But to tell you the truth, it's so hard to find something that omits all of that list.

Spiderman and the Garfield movies. My daughter is 18 and we loved the first Garfield movie- but we were already Garfield fans so.... Even some of the G rated movies can seem a bit too much. I like the older movies better. Some of the newer movies aimed for kids are so disrespectful toward adults. Have you seen Pride and Prejudice? I read the book but haven't seen the movie. It should be good.

None. Every good movie ever made has either had sex, drugs, swearing, or at least ideas that might have to cause Christine (whoever she is) to think.

a christine? you mean a christian? Disney doesn't even have any of that, try maybe baby einstein. Good luck. You would have to go with a G movie, maybe PG 13, but I think you can swear in those.

I love how people bash Christians. Geez, not all Christians are close minded and hate the world. Lay off. Anyhow, your question...

My standards for movies aren't as rigid as yours but ones I'd recommend are:

The Princess Bride
The Village
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton
Return to Me
You've Got Mail
A Walk to Remember

Also try old stuff like: Spellbound, Charade, Suspicion (I love Alfred Hitchcock, and a lot of his are just suspense not violent at all).

You rock!!! I'm glad that there are still young people out there that don't have thier minds in the gutter most of the time. Chronicles of Narnia is really good. Alot of the seasons of Tv shows are neat. My friend likes Knight Rider. If you like to listen to stories on CD then you shoud buy the Focus on the Family Chronicles of Narnia set. They are dramatized and awesome!! Makes car trips fly by. Stay true to Jesus!

The Passion of the Christ is an excellant movie. It makes you realize what Jesus did for ALL of us. God sent him to us out of LOVE. Why can't people see that? I saw the movie a few times and now own a copy. Whenever I get upset at others I remind myself that I am not perfect. I watch the movie to Remind me that Christ did more for me then anyone else. Let you child watch this movie, it will rock his world for the better. Go in peace.
